SWMBKS 2019 Honey Show Winners
Once again, our Honey Show brought the best quality honey and beekeeping products to the the forefront from within our membership. It was good to see that some of our newer beekeepers entered a variety of classes and went on to win! We thank the judge, Nick Grey from Buckinghamshire Beekeepers for his time and expertise and also Hilary Du Cane and her team for organising the event.
We hope to see another fine selection of entries in the 2020 Honey Show, and in particular, showcasing skills in candle making and other beehive products after instruction from our speakers during the Winter Meetings schedule.

Nick's Top Tips for Honey Show Success!
- Always shine a torch light through the jar of honey you intend to enter. This will bring up any imperfections in the product, which will enable you to sort it out
- Dip the wick of your candle into the wax and run it between your fingers before placing it. This will ensure that all the air has been removed from the wick and your candle will not smoulder as the flame is blown out
- Check that labels and weights are accurate - everything must be compliant!
- Have a go at entering the Honey Show next year to develop your skills
